Young hematologists or hematologists in training are invited to submit their project and apply for the AMGINY Award for Young Hematologist Innovation.
The “AMGINY Award” jury will select only “one” innovative project that will contribute to the optimisation of patient care thanks to the use of advanced technologies (AI, big data...). The winning project will be awarded with 20.000 euro.
The award ceremony will take place at the 39th BHS general annual meeting on February 2-3, 2024.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS AMGINY AWARD 2024
Who can apply?
The candidate must fulfill all criteria below:
- be a member of BHS and a natural person
- Young hematologists (<35 years) or hematologists in training who are MD and are within 10 years after MD graduation
- may not be an employee of the pharmaceutical industry
Which projects are eligible?
- Innovative projects which are dedicated to enhancing patient care (e.g. screening, diagnosis, treatment decision-making, and follow-up) by leveraging advanced technologies. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics has opened new avenues for transforming healthcare and improving patient outcomes. Therefore, projects utilising AI or big data are of particular interest.
- Projects should be carried out in the hospital or outpatient setting (but with a link to the hospital).
- The project must not be directly linked to the use of a specific pharmaceutical specialty.
- The project must be carried out in compliance with the Protection of Privacy Law.
Evaluation criteria
- Relevance and impact of the project in the improvement of patient care (50%)
- Originality of the project in terms of the proposed theme (25%)
- Feasibility of the project (20%)
- Relevance of the budgetary estimate (5%)
Application requirements
The application must preferably be written in English** and must consist of :
- a description of the different project members and including the curriculum vitae of the applicant
- a detailed project form with a maximum of 3 pages including a budget estimate and time frame Detailed project form AMGINY award 2024.docx
- a summary in abstract format with a maximum of 2500 characters (including spaces) for possible publication in the Belgian Journal of Hematology

Only submission through the online tool is possible. Submissions sent by e-mail will not be considered.
AMGINY Award
A prize award of 20.000 euros will be given to the winner. Please note, the prize money cannot be allocated to fund a salary. The results of the selection will be announced during the 2024 General Annual Meeting of the BHS.
